Latest Highlights from the Winter Art & Antiques Fair Olympia 2018
The acclaimed Winter Art & Antiques Fair Olympia will return from October 29th to November 4th on the Gallery Level on the National Hall of Olympia London. With over 20,000 objects of outstanding quality, the fair is the last important art and antiques fair before Christmas. The dark winter nights give the event a seasonal sparkle and luxurious atmosphere.
New exhibitors to the 2018 edition include: Ted Few, Berlin Walls, Antikbar Original Vintge Posters, Fine Art Commissions, The Englishman Fine Art, Cantelo Antiques, Markov and Walton House Antiques.
Regular returnees include: Haynes Fine Art, Morgan Strickland Decorative Arts, Anthea AG Antiques Ltd, Jeroen Markies, Wakelin and Linfield, Steve Sly Japanese Works of Art, Sarah Colgrave, Mary Cooke, Serhat Ahmet and The Old Corkscrew (South Africa).
Art Consultant Vanessa Curry will be doing highlights tours of the fair and there will be a variety of cultural and interior talks throughout the fair.
Amongst the pieces for sale will be: art, furniture, silver, mirrors, sculpture, ceramics, Art Deco, mid-century modern, jewellery, textiles, glass and photography. Each object will be individually vetted by independent experts
Comet car mascot by Rene Lalique
These were made in the 1920s to sit on car radiator mounts as the ultimate luxury accessory. Lit from within, they created a warm glow at night - the faster the car went the brighter the glow. This very rare piece originates from a private owner who inherited it from his grandfather, who would tell stories of the comet's rare appearances.

One of the most important animali bronze subjects by Antoine L Barye entitled 'Guerrier Tartare Arrêtant son Cheval' - The bronze of a fierce Tartare warrior mounted upon his muscular stead in full battle uniform with excellent rich green, orange and black patina and very fine hand chased surface detail, signed Barye and Inscribed F Barbedienne Fondeur.
