This September the Wallace Collection presents The Middle, an innovative contemporary art exhibition by British artist Tom Ellis. Join Tom and the exhibition co-curator, Simone Stewart, as they discuss the range of techniques featured in The Middle, which comprises sculpture, figurative paintings and furniture hybrids shown in combination. Beyond this, they will discuss the multi-layered meanings and responses behind the exhibition’s ambiguous name, The Middle, in addition to the unexpected parallels found between the artist’s work and Samuel Beckett- an author who was fascinated by the unresolved and open-ended possibilities of artistic endeavour.
