Undoubtedly one of the most heterogeneous creations to emerge from Daisy’s strange imaginings. Centred in the picture, and illuminated by two fiery torches, is a flight of yellow steps curving upwards from a dark blue lake full of water sprites towards a shimmering white palace. A pointed yellow arch frames an oriental-style birdcage which rests upon an undulating Art Nouveau plant form growing from a rock, and a double rhomboidal shape, similar to an angular figure of eight, supports a long-tailed bird in a hoop; these are all set against vivid blue which deepens in colour as it merges with the lake. To the right stands a small, white-tiled, blue wooden hut at the base of a tall tree, containing a nestful of hungry fledglings being fed by a green parent bird. Round the tree two ‘Beetle’ men, orange and yellow, are peering at each other, while a reptile with a green and bluish green lozenge-patterned body, a fluorescent tail tip and a peculiar flattened head, coils up the tree reaching for the fledglings. Behind the trunk is a luxuriant growth of peacock - coloured foliage, and a pale yellow lantern hangs from a branch of deep peacock leafage. The foot of the vase is ornamented with the Flaming Wheel border on a lustre ground.
