(1869 – 1956) English Oil on relined canvas Signed c 1930. Charles Burleigh studied at Brighton School of Art and also in Paris, where he studied under Jacques-Emile Blanche. He was a painter of landscapes, townscapes, still life and interiors. His paintings sometimes featured his family, including his wife, the artist Averil Burleigh and his daughter, Veronica who was also an artist. He exhibited at the Royal Academy; Fine Art Society and the Royal Institute of painters of which he was a member. Charles Burleigh lived in Hove, Sussex.
