Franz Bergman (1861-1936)
Bergman took over the Vienna foundry established by his father in 1860. He cast cold-painted ‘Vienna bronzes’ and was known for his fine, detailed and colourful sculptures. Popular subjects included small figures and animals with an Orientalist or exotic theme. Chinese dancer is a rare model with original cold-painted features.
